IThEO has teamed up with Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) to create a strong base for this year’s Thorium Energy Conference – ThEC11. The BNL perspective: ThEC10 was a great success in London last year, thanks to the international mix of participants, and the broad cross-disciplinary mix of presentations and interests - from mining and patent law to nuclear chemistry, accelerators, energy security, and molten salt reactors. ThEC11 will provide a unique and convenient opportunity for diverse participants to meet, to speak, to discuss, and to spread the awareness of Thorium Energy. BNL does not preferentially advocate any particular technology, or technology branch. Perhaps Thorium Energy is best implemented with "Solid Fuel – Light Water Reactors", with "Liquid Fuel – Molten Salt Reactors", or with "External Neutrons – Accelerator Driven". Brookhaven National Laboratory, which originally was owned by the Atomic Energy Commission, is now owned by the Commission's successor, the United States Department of Energy, which subcontracts the actual research and operation to universities and research organizations. BNL is staffed by approximately 3,000 scientists, engineers, technicians, and support personnel, and hosts 4,000 guest investigators every year. Discoveries made at the lab have won seven Nobel Prizes. We are looking forward to adding more partners. Please do attend ThEC11, and do consider suggesting a presentation. |
