Congressman Joe Sestak has without doubt an interesting background. He holds a PhD from Harvard University, served the US navy for 30 years, is a three-star Admiral, is involved in national security and the list goes on.
Now, Joe has introduced an amendment to a bill instructing the military to study the use of thorium liquid-fueled nuclear reactors (MSR/LFTR) for naval power.
This is part of his goal for the US to produce more responsible energy at home. In doing so he has looked for ways to improve the nuclear industry. He then began to take a closer look at thorium energy and has since been a strong supporter.
