Technology is one of the most reliable, persistent and underestimated drivers of future change. In order to help us make sense of our uncertain future, Policy Horizons Canada (a foresight and knowledge organization within the federal government of Canada) engaged Michell Zappa of Envisioning Technology to explore key technologies that are likely to have a profound effect on humanity on a global level and generational timeframe. The report is structured around six key areas of technological research of which one is energy. The energy area contains 10 technologies of which one is:  Scientifically viable in 2025; mainstream in 2026; and financially viable in 2027.
