Throughout history prizes have many times (10 Technology Prizes that Propelled us Forward) lead to great developments in various fields. Some examples are DARPA Grand Challenge for self driving cars, Lindbergh flying across the Atlantic, Longitude Prize for ocean navigation, Google Lunar for going back to the moon... |
Though Thorium Energy is currently being developed in several places around the world (report), this kind of an extra push that creates fierce competition to reach a very specific goal and win a grand prize could really lead to a breakthrough. The X-Prize Foundation is asking for our help to design an ‘abundant clean energy X-Prize competition’. This is a unique opportunity to further the field. Please contribute with your ideas for creating a Thorium X-Prize proposal. Parameters such as prize purse, structure, duration and verification need to be defined. Please fill out the form here and send it to us by the end of March. We will use your ideas to create the best prize proposal. |
