The international Thorium Energy Committee (iThEC) is our host of this year’s Thorium Energy Conference – ThEC13 in Geneva. It will be held at the famous science institute, CERN (think world’s biggest experiment and the Higgs boson) in the Globe of Science and Innovation from October 27 to 31, 2013. |
iThEC is a newly started non-profit organization promoting the use of Thorium as a safe, sustainable and proliferation-resistant source of nuclear power. Thorium is a viable alternative nuclear fuel to uranium. The goal of iTheC is to raise global awareness of the many possibilities Thorium offers for solving mankind's growing energy needs. iThEC pursues the following goals: I. support the continued active research in the context of permitting transmutation of civilian and military nuclear waste in particular through an ADS (Accelerator Driven System). II. support the continued active research in the context of the production of a clean, safe and non-proliferating Thorium Energy reactor. III. providing public and private organizations with useful resources available within the organization to achieve the goals above. IV. collaboration with any entity pursuing similar goals, in Switzerland or abroad. It is placed under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Carlo RUBBIA, 1984 Nobel Prize Laureate, Inventor of the Thorium Energy Amplifier. We are pleased to cooperate with such an extremely well connected, experienced and diverse host to make ThEC13 in Geneva a must attend event.
