Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) in association with International Thorium Energy Organisation (IThEO) and Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) proudly announces the international Thorium Energy Conference - ThEC15 under the aegis of Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI) in Mumbai, India during October 12-15, 2015. For a very special reason (to be announced shortly) we are able to make the Thorium Energy Conference 2015 extra unique for you. For this reason, we need to move it to one week earlier. New dates for ThEC15 in Mumbai: 12-15 October, 2015 Everything else is the same. The event is being jointly hosted by: BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Centre) - leader of the Indian Thorium Energy Program NPCIL (Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited) – constructor of the resulting reactors HBNI (Homi Bhabha National Institute) – a deemed university dedicated to research and development in frontier areas of nuclear science and technology. The venue, about 20 km from the airport, is located at scenic Anushaktinagar, which has peaceful and excellent natural environment conducive for thematic scientific discussions. The conference is aptly being held in India where it is poised to take off construction of thorium-fuelled Advanced Heavy Water Reactor (AHWR) very soon. India has made significant progress in all aspects of thorium fuel cycle. ThEC15 is aimed to be the largest thorium conference to date, with 300 participants and 40 international experts speaking on various facets of thorium energy. Visit to BARC facilities at Trombay and Tarapur is planned for participants. ABOUT THE CONFERENCE ThEC15 is the 5th conference in the series of conferences hosted by IThEO. Previously, IThEO has organized: ThEC13 was organised in collaboration with iThEC, CERN, EPFL, PSI, Geneva in the year 2013. ThEC11 was organised in collaboration with Brookhaven National Laboratory, USA at The City College of New York, New York in the year 2011. ThEC10 at The Royal Institution of Great Britain, London in the year 2010. True to its theme, the conference will discuss strategies for gateway to thorium energy through sessions involving plenary and invited talks by eminent international professionals. The conference also invites contributed papers from prospective authors to be presented as posters during the conference. ThEC12 was organised in collaboration with Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics (SINAP), Shanghai and Chinese Academy of Sciences in the year 2012. |
