The renowned Royal Institution of Great Britain in central London's Mayfair district has been selected as the site for this year's Thorium Energy Conference, ThEC2010. The Royal Institution was founded in 1799 for the purpose of scientific research, development and education, and has been an internationally recognized center for the advancement of science and technology ever since.

Through the course of its life, it has also been the home of many famous scientists, such as Michael Faraday, who have helped shape the modern world. The RI is located in the same historic building that has been its home for more than 200 years. This impressive venue recently underwent a £22 million renovation and is now booked for ThEC2010.
